SKIP SKIP — Privacy Policy

SKIP SKIP is a browser extension that detects and automatically skips sponsor segments, intros, and filler in YouTube videos so you get to the point. This policy explains what information the extension handles and how it is used.

Information we handle

Authentication information. When you sign in, our authentication provider processes your email address and issues a session token so you stay signed in inside the extension.
Personally identifiable information. The email address associated with your sign-in is used to identify your account.
User activity. We record how you interact with the extension — for example clicks, toggles, and which skip categories you use — to operate and improve the service.
What we never collect. We do not log keystrokes, and we never collect what you type into other websites' pages. SKIP SKIP does not send us text from the pages you visit.
Web history (limited). We record the identifier of the YouTube videos you use the extension on, including which you have already watched, so we can provide the correct skip data and improve accuracy.
Custom rules. If you write a custom rule telling SKIP SKIP what to skip, the text of that rule is saved to your account on our servers so your rules follow you across devices. Rules are free-text, so please don't include anything sensitive in them.
Preferences. Your settings (which categories to skip, captions on/off, etc.) are stored in your browser and synced to your account so they follow you when you sign in on another browser or device.

What we do NOT collect: health information, financial or payment information, precise location, and personal communications (emails, texts, chats). We do not read or store the text of the pages you visit. The extension reads the video's title from the page to display it in its own panel; that stays on your device.

How we use information

We use the information above only to provide and improve SKIP SKIP's single purpose — skipping to the point on YouTube. We do not use or transfer it for any unrelated purpose, for advertising, or to determine creditworthiness.

Limited Use

SKIP SKIP’s use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We use this data only to provide and improve the skipping features described above; we do not transfer it except as needed to operate the service, or where required by law; we do not use it for advertising or ad personalisation; and we do not allow humans to read it, except with your consent, for security purposes, or to comply with the law.

Sharing

We do not sell or rent your data. We share information only with the infrastructure providers that operate the service (for example, our authentication provider), and only as needed to run SKIP SKIP, under their own terms.

Data retention & your choices

We keep account and usage data for as long as your account is active. You can sign out at any time, and you may request deletion of your account data by contacting us at the address below.

Security

All data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS).

Children

SKIP SKIP is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

We may update this policy; the “last updated” date above reflects the current version.
